Digital Bleeding: Computing with Hand-Drawn Traces [2012]  This painting is developed starting with a simple initial shape, and by using this shape (and its unfoldment) as a source of visual inspiration. Broadened Drawing-Scape, the apparatus that I developed during my PhD Studies at MIT, helps digitally capture and extract the embedded bits of drawings from ongoing analog drawing and water-coloring processes. These captured bits are then utilized to generate digital patterns by using shape rules.

In this specific example, there is no "final" painting. One of the "best moments" of the painting becomes alive when the digital projection keeps bleeding into hand-drawn watercolor traces.

My MIT PhD dissertation can be found HERE.
